This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was fitted with a 468ci V8 and refinished in gray as part of a custom refurbishment that was completed several years prior to being acquired by the seller in 2023. Additional work involved the fabrication of a one-piece front clip and the installation of a Currie 9″ rear end, tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers, RideTech four-link rear suspension, rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Rushforth 18″ alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and a 2.5″ dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The interior was upholstered in red leather with black accents and features Vintage Air climate control, bolstered front bucket seats, power windows and door locks, an Ididit tilt-adjustable steering column, a Hurst shifter, and a Pioneer touchscreen DVD receiver. A Tremec five-speed manual transmission was installed in 2023. This modified Camaro is now offered on dealer consignment in North Carolina with a clean South Carolina title in the owner’s name.
The body was finished in Matrix Gray Metallic subsequent to replacing the quarter panels, floorboards, and trunk pan. Detroit Speed mini tubs were installed, the firewall was smoothed, and a one-piece steel front clip with an integrated chin spoiler was fitted. Additional exterior details include a cowl hood, a decklid spoiler, a body-color rear bumper, black billet mirrors and door handles, LED headlights, and sequential LED taillights.
Rushforth 18″ forged alloy wheels are finished in black and mounted with 255/35 front and 315/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport redline tires. Suspension consists of tubular control arms with QA1 adjustable coilovers up front and a RideTech four-link setup with adjustable coilovers out back. Ridetech subframe connectors are installed along with rack-and-pinion steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs fitted with red-finished Wilwood calipers.
The cabin is trimmed in red leather with black accents and a color-coordinated headliner, carpeting, and floor mats. Interior appointments include bolstered front bucket seats, a Vintage Air climate control system, a full-length center console, a Hurst shifter, power windows and door locks, billet door handles, a Lokar pedal set, and a Pioneer touchscreen multimedia DVD receiver with Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration.
A Billet Specialties D-shaped steering wheel has a rim wrapped in red leather and is mounted atop an Ididit tilt-adjustable steering column. It fronts a red-painted custom metal dashboard housing AutoMeter Phantom II instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and ancillary gauges. The digital odometer shows 360 miles since completion of the build. The horn is noted to be inoperative.
The 468ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads, a roller camshaft, Eddie Motorsports pulleys, dual electric cooling fans, an open-element air cleaner, and long-tube headers flowing into a 2.5″ dual exhaust system equipped with Flowmaster mufflers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9″ rear end with a 3.90:1 final gear ratio.
