This Aurora GRX Mark II Slabside Cobra replica was manufactured in July, 1983 by Aurora Cars Limited of Ontario, Canada, and is number 115 of approximately 170 vehicles reportedly built over a two-year production run. The car spent time in Wisconsin before being acquired in November 2015. Power is provided by 5.0-liter Ford V8 that was rebuilt under prior ownership in 2013 and is mated to a Borg Warner five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Work completed which included repainting the fiberglass bodywork in silver in addition to installing a black convertible top, black leather-upholstered low-back bucket seats, 15″ Dayton Wheel Concepts wire-spoke wheels, a Holley carburetor, and MSD ignition components. Additional equipment includes a tubular steel frame, independent suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a chrome roll bar, a black tonneau cover, fender vents, chrome bumperettes, Smiths gauges, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo. This Aurora GRX Cobra replica is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report.

The slabside fiberglass body was manufactured by C&C Yachts Custom Division and refinished in silver by Corvette Connection of Denver, Colorado, in 2017. The side marker lights were removed at that time, and exterior details include fender vents, wind wings, side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, chrome bumperettes, and polished dual exhaust outlets. A replacement black convertible top was manufactured by Colorado Seat Treat of Denver, Colorado, in 2017 and can be seen along with images showing the removed front bumper and three-point roll hoop as well as the included side curtains and tonneau cover. The brake lights nor the windshield washers function.

The chrome-finished 15″ Dayton Wheel Concepts wire-spoke wheels were installed under current ownership and wear Pirelli P4 tires. A set of four Halibrand-style wheels and a set of four Cheviot wheels will accompany the car. Equipment includes independent suspension in addition to four-wheel disc brakes with Jaguar-style rear inboard rotors. The parking brake is in need of adjustment.

The replacement low-back bucket seats are upholstered in black Connolly leather and were sourced from Shell Valley of Platte Center, Nebraska, before being installed in 2016. Additional equipment includes Connolly leather door panels and map pockets, black carpets with white piping, AC-branded brake and clutch pedals, a chrome parking brake handle, latch and link-style lap belts, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette stereo. A fire extinguisher is stored in the trunk. Neither the air conditioning nor the heater function.

The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel fronts central Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The mechanical odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 600 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 5.0-liter Ford V8 was rebuilt by Baril Engine Rebuilding in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 2013. Work completed under current ownership included installing a Holley carburetor, MSD distributor, MSD coil, Derale radiator fan, and replacement thermostat control unit.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes the transmission is seeping fluid, and also states that the catalytic converters have been removed.

A set of four 15″ Halibrand style wheels wrapped in Pirelli P6 tires will accompany the car along with four removed Cheviot wheels, two spare leather-upholstered bucket seats, a chrome tubular front bumper, a spare roll bar, a tonneau cover, and removable side curtains.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Wisconsin and Colorado from an initial entry in March 1995.
