This 1967 Porsche 911 Coupe was found in the woods outside Gainesville, Florida by the current owner four years ago as a rolling shell. The car was transported to the current owner’s residence, where a running 2.2L flat-six from a 1970 911T was mounted along with a replacement hood. The numbers-matching four-speed Type 902/0 transaxle is included, along with green VDO gauges, replacement fenders, and various trim pieces. This 911 Coupe project is now offered on behalf of the current owner at no reserve with spare parts, a copy of the Kardex, and a clean Florida title.
According to the Kardex report, the car was originally finished in Sandbeige. Only the rear windshield and driver’s rear quarter window remains fitted, and rust-through is pervasive in the rockers, floors, lower doors, spare tire well, and other areas as detailed below. A replacement hood has been added, and replacement fenders can be seen in the gallery below along with door trim.
Replacement 15″ steel wheels are mounted in the rear, with older ones remaining on the front. Replacement studs have been added to the hubs, and the suspension and braking systems are said to remain.
The interior has been largely stripped, although the dashboard remains in place. Rust-through is present in the floors. A single tan vinyl seat is mounted on boards and accompanies the vehicle, along with a steering wheel, pedal set, and five green VDO gauges.
A running 2.2L flat-six from a 1970 911T bears serial *6107940* and was mounted one month ago by the current owner. It is not connected to the transaxle. The results of a November 2019 compression test are provided in the gallery below.
The engine is shown running in the video above while connected to an external fuel source. An additional idling video is provided here.
The four-speed Type 902/0 transaxle is included and carries stamping 200340, matching the Kardex.
A copy of the Kardex report shows the factory options and colors, as well as the production date and handling by Porsche of America in Teaneck, New Jersey.
