1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible 396 4-Speed

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible was initially delivered to Roger Dean Inc., in Charleston, West Virginia, equipped with a 396ci L78 V8. The car was refurbished in the late 1990s and reportedly spent 25 years with the same family before it was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023. A replacement 396ci V8 was installed under current ownership, and shifting is through a four-speed Muncie M21 manual transmission. The car is finished in yellow over black vinyl and equipped with a black convertible soft top, front and rear spoilers, 14″ Rally wheels, four-wheel drum brakes, a Hurst shifter, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and a fire extinguisher. This Camaro SS convertible is now offered with documentation from Jerry MacNeish, an NCRS Shipping Data Report, and a Pennsylvania title.

The car left the factory finished in Butternut Yellow (Y) and was refinished with black stripes in the late 1990s. It is equipped with a replacement black convertible soft top, a raised hood, front and rear spoilers, a black grille, side mirrors, and chrome bumpers. The reverse lights do not work.

The 14″ Rally wheels are mounted with Coker redline tires. Braking is handled by front and rear drum brakes.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl. A clock is located ahead of the Hurst shifter, and a fire extinguisher is mounted on the right side of the console. The car also has an AM/FM cassette stereo and a heater.

A woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel fronts a column-mounted tachometer as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a readout for fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership.

The replacement 396ci V8 was overhauled by ECAM Racing Engines of Glenside, Pennsylvania, in 2023, reportedly built to L78 specifications, and installed in 2024. The fuel tank, carburetor, battery, and spark plugs were also replaced in 2023. The body tag and documentation provided in the gallery indicate that the car left the factory with an L78 engine and that the engine pad has been re-stamped.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed Muncie M21 manual transmission. A replacement clutch kit and pressure plate were installed under current ownership. The dual exhaust system is equipped with Hooker mufflers.

Documentation from Jerry MacNeish will accompany the car. A copy of the NCRS Shipping Data Report is also included and shows that the car was produced on June 6, 1967, and initially delivered to Roger Dean Inc., in Charleston, West Virginia.

The current Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique Vehicle” brand.
