- This 1966 Ford Mustang is an A-code fastback that was purchased from a grandfather in Candy Apple Red over red vinyl. Power comes from a replacement 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and features include 14″ wheels with wire-style covers, an under-dash air-conditioning unit, an AM radio, and a four-barrel Holley carburetor. He acquired the car in 2016, and service since that time is said to have included changing the fluids as well as replacing the tires, radiator, thermostat, spark plugs, belts, and valve-cover gaskets. Cosmetic attention is required, and the car is currently registered as planned non-operation.The car was delivered new in Candy Apple Red (T) and features louvered pillar vents. The trunk lid was replaced after the car was rear-ended in the 1970s, and the exterior shows signs of wear and age. The Mustang emblem on the passenger-side fender is missing, and the bumpers exhibit rust. The paintwork and exterior trim.Steel 14″ wheels wear wire-style covers with Special Edition–logo center caps. The wheels have been mounted with 185/75 GT Radial Champiro VP1 tires under current ownership.The interior features bucket seats with red upholstery complemented by matching door cards, carpeting, and trim. A console extends across the transmission tunnel, and equipment includes an AM radio as well as an under-dash air-conditioning unit. The door panels are sagging.A three-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer flanked by four auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles and has rolled over.
The 289ci V8 is said to have been replaced with a rebuilt unit in the late 1980s. Features include a blue air-cleaner assembly, a four-barrel Holley carburetor, and a FoMoCo-branded windshield-washer bag. A drip from the oil-pan plug and also the fan shroud is not installed, and the fan itself is dented. Service since 2016 has included fluid changes as well as replacing the radiator, thermostat, valve-cover gaskets, spark plugs, and drive belts.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Seepage is noted from the oil pan.
