This 1965 Porsche 911 coupe is a non-running project that is equipped with a 2.0L flat-six linked with a Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle. The car has been repainted silver, and equipment includes disc brakes, 15″ ventilated steel wheels with polished hubcaps, a Becker AM/FM radio, and a heater. This SWB 911 coupe was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered in New York at no reserve with a copy of the Kardex, the removed front seats, and Maine registration.
The car came finished from the factory in Ruby Red (6402) and was repainted silver some time ago. There is damage to the roof and front of the car, and rust is present in the front fenders, left door sill and rocker, and various other areas around the body as shown in the gallery.
The 15″ ventilated steel wheels feature polished hubcaps and are mounted with older 165R15 tires. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension including an anti-sway bar, longitudinal torsion bar, upper struts, and lower wishbones. The rear semi-trailing arm setup features a transverse torsion bar.
The cabin has been stripped of the carpets and front seats, while the black leatherette door panels and rear seats remain in place. Interior appointments include a push-button Becker AM/FM radio, wood trim, a Webasto gas heater, and front lap belts. A pair of low-back black leatherette and Pepita fabric seats accompany the sale. The dashboard is damaged and additional photos showing the condition of the interior are provided in the gallery.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 75k miles.
The 2.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque and is equipped with dual Solex carburetors. It is unknown when the engine was last running or the car was driven.
