This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is a non-running project that has been stored for approximately 40 years according to the seller. A disassembled numbers-matching 327ci L76 V8 and a four-speed Borg Warner manual transmission are included in the sale along with chrome wheel covers, a Delco AM/FM radio, interior and exterior trim, headlamps, a carburetor, and additional drivetrain components. This split-window Corvette is offered by the seller on behalf of a family member with a Kentucky title in the owner’s name.
Originally finished in Silver Blue (912A), the fiberglass split-window body currently wears a combination of primer, several layers of paint, and bare areas. Black 15″ steel wheels wear mixed tires with dry rot. Cracks, filler, and other blemishes in the body panels can be seen in the gallery below.
The cockpit was trimmed in blue vinyl from the factory, and has been partially stripped. Bucket seats and a stock vertical Delco AM/FM radio are retained along with a shifter surround, a clock, and several knobs. The condition of the floor pans can be seen up close in the gallery.
Instrumentation includes a tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 160-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer shows 41k miles, with the actual total unknown.
The removed and disassembled engine wears a code ending in RE, indicating a 340-horsepower L76 engine for use with a manual transmission, while serial number stamping 3115886 matches the last six digits of the chassis identification plate. The seller has provided photos of the disassembled engine and transmission as well as number stamps on the cylinder heads and other drivetrain components.
Additional underbody photographs are provided in the gallery below.
