Powered 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II 2-Door Sedan 5-Speed

$29,000.00

Brands:

This 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II is a two-door sedan that was acquired by the seller in 2022 from a family friend and subsequently underwent a multi-year rebuild completed in 2024. Work involved stripping and repainting the body in a faux-patina finish as well as installing a 350ci Chevy V8, Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission, and a 12-bolt rear end fitted with a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. The chassis was also upgraded with a Heidts Mustang II–style front end with rack-and-pinion power steering as well as QA1 adjustable coilovers, front and rear anti-roll bars, and rear ladder bars. The engine is equipped with a Holley EFI system and Air Flow Research heads along with Schoenfeld long-tube headers flowing into a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe. Inside, black vinyl-trimmed bench seats are accompanied by a split-spoke steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and Dakota Digital instrumentation. Further equipment includes a Quick Time steel bellhousing, an aluminum flywheel, and a McLeod Racing clutch assembly along with 15″ steel wheels and front disc brakes. This modified Chevy II is now offered with a car cover and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The two-door sedan body was stripped and repainted in gray with faux-patina accents. Further details include a bright driver-side mirror, grille, and headlight bezels along with body-color bumpers. The windshield was replaced along with the lights and lenses at the time of the paintwork, according to the seller.

The staggered-width 15” steel wheels are finished in black and wear polished hubcaps. Thunderer Mach I tires measuring 165/65 up front are paired with 275/50 Nitto 555R rubber out back. A Heidts Mustang II–style front end with rack-and-pinion power steering has been added along with QA1 adjustable coilovers, front and rear anti-roll bars, and rear ladder bars. Braking is handled by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The split front and solid rear bench seats are said to have been fitted with replacement foam and retrimmed in black vinyl. A replacement headliner is said to have been added, and Dualmax sound deadening material was applied to the floors before installation of a replacement carpet kit. The seller states an air conditioning compressor is installed but the system is incomplete.

The split-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a replacement column and paired with a floor-mounted Hurst shifter. Dakota Digital instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The speedometer has not been calibrated, and the digital odometer reportedly shows 200 miles.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through Tremec TKX five-speed manual transmission linked with a 12-bolt rear end fitted with a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential, 3.42:1 gearing, and an LPW aluminum cover. Further modifications are said to include a Quick Time steel bellhousing, an aluminum flywheel, a McLeod Racing clutch assembly, a hydraulic throw-out bearing, and a balanced driveshaft. The seller notes that the trunk pans and sections of the body at the rear of the car were replaced and coated with POR-15 at the time of the paintwork.

The chassis tag has been painted over, and the Fisher body tag is missing. The chassis number is consistent with a 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II two-door sedan built at the Norwood, Ohio, assembly facility with an inline-six engine.
