This 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera is one of 479 3.0-liter-powered Targa models built for the model year and was reportedly parked in 1980. It was disassembled and repainted in 2011, though the project was subsequently stalled. The hood, decklid, fenders, bumpers, and glass are included in the sale along with a disassembled 3.0L flat-six and a Type 915/61 five-speed manual transaxle. This 911 3.0 Carrera Targa project was purchased by the seller in 2024 and is now offered at no reserve with spare and removed parts and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The body was disassembled and repainted gold around 2011, at which time a replacement right quarter panel was reportedly installed. The bumpers, fenders, headlights, rocker panels, Targa bar trim, and taillights accompany the vehicle along with two color-matched decklids as shown in the gallery.
The car wears non-matching Fuchs wheels, and a steel spare wheel with a space-saver tire is included in the sale along with brake and suspension components.
The cabin retains the fold-down rear seats, rear interior panels, and the center console, along with the dash, three-spoke steering wheel, Kenwood cassette radio, and climate controls. The VDO gauges include an 8k-rpm tachometer and a 180-mph speedometer with a six-digit odometer that shows under 12k miles. The front bucket seats are not included in the sale.
The 3.0-liter Type 930/02 flat-six was disassembled under previous ownership. A Type 915/61 five-speed manual transaxle, exhaust system, and other drivetrain components are included in the sale. A photo of the engine stamping is viewable in the gallery.
A collection of underside photos are presented in the gallery.
The South Carolina title lists “Exempt” under the brands section.
