This 1972 Porsche 911T Targa was acquired by the seller 49 years ago, and it is a non-running project that retains a 2.2-liter flat-six and Type 915 four-speed manual transaxle. The body was repainted in black but is partially disassembled, and equipment includes a removable Targa top, a mixed set of alloy wheels, an 8-track stereo, and reupholstered seats. This 911 Targa is now offered in Canada at no reserve with a removed airbox cover and engine bay decals, a jack, and Ontario registration.
The car was delivered in Tangerine according to the seller, who notes that it was partially disassembled and repainted in its current black. The car retains a removable Targa top with a silver Targa bar and side scripts, a driver’s side quarter window, and a rear window. The seller states some plastic filler was used in areas in the bodywork, there is a dent on the right-front fender, and a number of trim pieces have been removed from the car and are no longer present. The cabin is equipped with seats that were reupholstered in blue cloth in 1982 according to the seller, who reports evidence of rodent damage to the soft furnishings. An eight-track stereo is mounted in the dashboard, and the door panels are missing. The floors are in need of repair or replacement due to corrosion.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation includes a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows under 59k miles, approximately 54k of which have been added under current ownership; total mileage is unknown.
The 2.2-liter flat-six is equipped with mechanical fuel injection and reportedly does not turnover, and is paired with a Type 915 four-speed transmission. The removed airbox cover and engine bay decals are shown in the gallery below.
