This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was purchased by the seller’s sister in 2000, and a 350ci V8 was installed in 2001. The body was stripped and coated in gray primer, and the interior was disassembled during the refurbishment work that stalled in 2003, according to the seller. Equipment includes a cowl hood, a rear spoiler, aftermarket 14″ wheels, rear traction bars, and front disc brakes as well as an Edelbrock intake manifold and cylinder heads, a Holley carburetor, MSD ignition components, Flowmaster mufflers, and a three-speed automatic transmission. The water pump was replaced in preparation for the sale. This Camaro coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner as a running project with removed glass and trim components as well as a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The body was delivered from the factory in Ash Gold and was refinished in red under prior ownership. Body work was performed, a cowl hood was fitted, the bumpers were removed, and gray primer was applied in the early 2000s. Rust and dents are visible on the left-front fender, and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below. The door windows have been removed and will accompany the car along with the removed grille and other trim pieces.
Five-spoke 14″ alloy wheels are wrapped in 215/70 GT Radial Touring tires up front and 235/60 Dunlop GT Qualifier tires out back. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and traction bars are installed on the rear.
The partially stripped interior houses bucket front seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl with gray cloth inserts. A B&M ratcheting shifter is installed, and a cassette stereo remains along with a graphic equalizer. The seller notes the passenger-side floor panel was replaced.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and an auxiliary gauge for fuel level. A Sun Super Tach II tachometer is mounted to the steering column, and Sun gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure are mounted above the radio. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 350ci V8 was installed in 2001 and features an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. An aluminum radiator is installed along with an MSD ignition control module, and full-length headers feed into a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The seller states the water pump was replaced in 2024 and notes the alternator does not produce charge.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes a leak at the base of the transmission dipstick tube.
