This 1966 Porsche 912 was modified during previous ownership in the style of a 1973 911 Carrera RS and was acquired by the current owner in June 2019 as a project. The car is finished in red over black and features a 1.6-liter Type 616/36 flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Modifications include RS-style front and rear flares, an RS-style front bumper, staggered-width Fuchs-style wheels, and sport seats with corduroy inserts. The seller reports that the last service was an oil change in 2017. This 912 is now offered on behalf of the current owner at no reserve with a spare Fuchs-style wheel and a clean California title.
Originally finished in Aga Blue, the body was repainted red during previous ownership after being modified with RS-style front and rear flares, a fiberglass RS-style front bumper, and Carrera decklid script. The seller states that the front pan was replaced and that there is a rust hole in the driver’s footwell. Rust is also present in the rear pillars. The affected areas, along with photos of cracking paint, the body, and trim, can be viewed in the gallery.
Staggered-width 15″ Fuchs-style wheels measure 7″ in width up front and 8″ at the rear and wear a mixed set of tires, all of which show cracking. A spare 15×6″ Fuchs-style wheel is included in the sale.
The interior is upholstered in black and features vinyl bucket seats with corduroy inserts, matching carpets and door panels, and a MOMO steering wheel. Flaws depicted in the gallery include tears on both seats, cracks in the dashboard and rear deck, and a wooden panel in the driver’s footwell to cover a rust hole. An aftermarket radio has been added.
The three-gauge instrument cluster includes a central 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and displays for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 96k miles. True mileage is unknown.
Chassis #454147 is shown above on the Karmann body tag and indicates that the car was built in 1965. Paint code 6608 corresponds to the original Aga Blue.
The 1.6-liter Type 616/36 flat-four last ran in 2017 when the car was parked due to a seized generator. An oil change was reportedly performed in 2017. Photos of engine stamping *743876* are presented in the gallery.
