This 1966 Porsche 912 coupe was built on September 30, 1965 and originally delivered to Porsche Cars Southwest of San Antonio, Texas. It was acquired approximately three years ago by the seller as a non-running project, and subsequent work performed in order to bring the car back to running condition included installing a pair of Weber carburetors as well as replacing the clutch, distributor, voltage regulator, brake pads, and brake lines. The exterior has been covered in grey primer, and power is provided by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes Fuchs-style alloy wheels, black leatherette upholstery, and chrome bumperettes. This 912 coupe is now offered as a running project in Rhode Island at no reserve with replacement weatherstripping, the removed Solex carburetors, a copy of the Kardex, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

Originally finished in Golfblau (6603), the exterior wears older grey primer and features pop-out side windows along with chrome trim and bumperettes. The driver’s door is damaged, and areas of corrosion and dents are visible around the body.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

A set of 15″ Fuchs-style alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/65 Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires showing 2016 production codes. The brake pads, lines, and left front caliper were reportedly replaced during current ownership.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

The interior was previously reupholstered in black leatherette with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. The Blaupunkt AM radio is non-functional and tears in the driver’s seat surface can be seen above.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

A four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer indicates 83k miles, though total mileage is unknown.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was sourced from a 1965 912 and installed under previous ownership. Dual Weber carburetors were added by the seller, and the removed Solex carburetors are included in the sale. Additional recommissioning carried out during current ownership included replacing the voltage regulator, distributor, ignition wires, and spark plugs.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. The clutch assembly and release fork were replaced along with the shift linkage coupler, bushings, and shifter boot per the seller. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.

No Reserve: 1966 Porsche 912 Coupe Project

The Kardex shows a build date of September 30, 1965 and lists the factory colors and serial numbers.
