This 1965 Porsche 356C cabriolet is finished in Light Ivory over red leather, and its 1,720 flat-four was rebuilt by Rennstatt/ArborMotion in 2016. Equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, a black convertible top, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and a Blaupunkt radio.
The car is finished in Light Ivory, and the amateur bodywork was performed by the late owner. The black convertible top was installed around 2020 by Hof Designs of Dearborn, Michigan. Additional features include twin engine grilles and body-color bumpers.
All five 15″ KPZ steel wheels show date stamps from February 1965, and the four on the car are mounted with 165/80 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and a dual-circuit master cylinder was recently added.
The red leather upholstery has deteriorated with time, and interior appointments include a body-color painted dashboard, lap belts, and a Blaupunkt radio. Close-up photos of the interior condition are provided.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a bright horn ring and frames VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer with a 5,200-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows around 20k miles and has rolled over.
The 616/15 flat-four was rebuilt by Rennstatt/ArborMotion to 1,720cc in 2016, with additional work including carburetor rebuilds and replacement of the fuel pump and ignition system. An oil change and valve adjustment were performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. The amateur repairs are present on the underside of the car, and records show a frame section was repaired in October 1969.
