This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was purchased new by the seller’s father in April 1963 at Circle Chevrolet of Red Bank, New Jersey, and it has reportedly been in storage since it was last driven in 1974. The car is finished in Riverside Red over matching vinyl, and it retains a 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a body-color removable hardtop, swiveling headlights, dual rear-exit exhaust outlets, 15″ wheels with spinner-style covers, power windows, and a Delco push-button radio. This C2 convertible is now offered on behalf of its late owner’s estate with original purchase documents, service records, manufacturer’s literature, an uninstalled white soft top, and a clean New Jersey title.
The fiberglass bodywork was finished from the factory in Riverside Red, and the paintwork shows chips, scratches, and flaking. Brightwork is present and shows hazing, thinning, and spots of corrosion. The front fenders and hood were repaired in 1965. Other exterior equipment includes pop-up headlights, Sting Ray badging, a body-color removable hardtop, dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance, and a telescoping antenna that is shown partially extended in the gallery below.
The white convertible top has been removed and is included in the sale.
The 15″ wheels have spinner-style covers and are wrapped in older whitewall tires that have cracked sidewalls and have gone flat.
The cabin features red vinyl upholstery on the seats, where dust, stains, and exposed foam can be seen, while discolorations and torn vinyl are present on the matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment retained includes an analog clock and a vertical Delco AM/FM push-button radio. The car is equipped with power windows, however, the center console window switches are missing along with the door-opener balls.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 85k miles, all of which were reportedly covered prior to 1974.
The 327ci L76 V8 engine was rated from the factory at 340 horsepower. The radiator has been removed, and the seller indicates that the engine was last started in 1974.
