1962 Lincoln continental convertible

Original price was: $25,000.00.Current price is: $22,000.00.

Brands:

This 1962 Lincoln Continental convertible was acquired in 2021 by the seller from its owner, who watched President John F. Kennedy ride in the back of it during a local visit when he was a child and purchased the car 40 years later. The car was restored between 2014 and 2015 with a repaint, a reupholstered interior, and a mechanical overhaul.
The black soft top and upholstery was replaced. The white-over-red convertible is powered by a 430ci V8 linked with a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission and is equipped with a power-operated top, power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, polished wheel covers, a power-adjustable front bench, power windows, an AM radio, and air conditioning.

The previous owner took photos of President Kennedy riding in the Continental during a parade on Pulaski Day in Buffalo, New York on October 14th, 1962.

The plaque mounted in the spot that Kennedy rode was provided by the White House.

The car was finished from the factory in Sultana White (M) and was repainted between 2014 and 2015. The power-operated black convertible top was replaced and the car also has rear-hinged rear doors, a left-side mirror, a retractable antenna, a Lincoln hood ornament, and chrome bumpers and trim.

The steel wheels wear polished covers and bias-ply narrow whitewall tires. Power steering was standard, and braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The tires should be used for show only, and an unmounted set of radial tires is included in the sale.

The car was ordered with red leather upholstery. The materials utilized during the 2014-2015 refurbishment was incorrect for the car, and as a result he replaced the seat upholstery and carpeting. The air-conditioning system was reportedly modernized during the refurbishment, and the car also has a power-adjustable front seat and a push-button radio. The rear window lifts were repaired.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 200 of which were added.

The 430ci V8 was factory equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 300 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a dual-range three-speed automatic transmission and a rear axle with 2.89:1 gearing. The car was mechanically overhauled as part of the 2014-2015 restoration
