This 1968 Porsche 911L Targa is said to have remained with the same family since new and was dismantled as part of a planned refurbishment initiated in the late 2010s. The 2.0-liter flat-six was removed and rebuilt by Morton Competition of Andover, Vermont, before work was paused. The body has been stripped and rolls on 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels. The dash and VDO gauges are retained inside, though the interior is missing. Accompanying components include the removed 902/1 five-speed manual transaxle, stainless-steel Targa bar, glass, hood, fenders, bumpers, and doors. This SWB 911L Targa project is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and expired New York State registration in the owner’s name.
The car left the factory finished is finished in Sand Beige (6807) and was repainted black prior to spending time under a tarp in the family’s driveway. Upon initiation of the refurbishment project, the bodywork was stripped and primer was applied to the quarter panels.
The 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted with 205/60 General Altimax HP tires. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension including an anti-sway bar, longitudinal torsion bar, upper struts, and lower wishbones. The rear semi-trailing arm setup featured a transverse torsion bar. The disc brakes are retained, though they are inoperative.
The interior has been stripped and sections of the floorpan have been cut out. A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of the retained dash, which houses VDO instrumentation. The five-digit odometer shows 4,300 miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 2.0-liter 901/14 flat-six is fitted with dual Weber 40IDA carburetors and affixed to a rolling stand. The engine was rebuilt by Morton Competition, and a January 2019 estimate for the work totaling over $16k can be viewed in the gallery.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows a build date of November 6, 1967, and lists factory colors and equipment along with identification numbers.
The car does not have a title, as it is located in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration, which expired in May 2018.
