This 1963 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova convertible was the subject of a custom build under prior ownership that included a repaint in yellow as well as installation of a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a narrowed 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. A TCI front subframe is installed with Mustang II independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, and the rear has been tubbed and modified to accommodate wider wheels and a rear ladder-bar suspension assembly. Additional equipment includes a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system, MSD ignition components, an aluminum radiator, a black soft top, and dual roll hoops as well as custom bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, a fabricated center console, an aftermarket stereo, a head-up speedometer display, and AutoMeter gauges. This Chevy II Nova convertible was purchased by the seller in 2017 and is now offered with a clean Nevada title.
The badges were shaved, a custom hood scoop was added, and the car was refinished in yellow under prior ownership. The fuel filler was filled, and a black convertible soft top was installed along with a black top boot. Additional details include a black grille, chrome bumpers, and aftermarket headlights.
Staggered-width Boyd Coddington polished wheels measure 18″ and 20″ in diameter and are mounted with Mickey Thompson tires. A TCI front subframe assembly is installed and features a Mustang II independent suspension setup as well as rack-and-pinion steering. The rear of the body has been tubbed, and a ladder-bar suspension assembly uses adjustable coilovers. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features aftermarket front bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl with yellow stitching and Nova script embroidered in the headrests. The back seat was removed and replaced with a custom speaker panel as well as steel roll hoops behind each seat. The center console houses a center arm rest, cupholders, and a ratcheting B&M shifter. An aftermarket stereo is mounted in the dash.
An aftermarket steering wheel frames AutoMeter instrumentation consisting of an 11k-rpm tachometer along with gauges for water temperature, voltage, fuel pressure, and oil pressure. A head-up display unit is mounted to the dashboard and projects the speed on the windshield. The car is not equipped with an odometer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 was reportedly installed in 2010 and features a GM Performance intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel-injection system, and an MSD ignition control module. An aluminum radiator is accompanied by an electric cooling fan, and a polyurethane fuel tank is installed in the trunk along with an electric fuel pump and an Optima battery with a cut-out switch.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a narrowed Ford 9″ rear axle with a 3.70:1 limited-slip differential and 35-spline axles.
